Apart from entertainment, she dedicated her life to other causes like animal welfare. Betty White was the last remaining star of the hit show “The Golden Girls.” The series was one of the very few shows on TV which featured an older star cast.

Her former co-stars had died years before her at various ages. The Golden Girls show follows four older women who were live together in Miami. Bea Arthur was one of the main stars. She played the role of Dorothy Zbornak. Dorothy was a divorcee and appeared practical and sarcastic. She married again and moved to Atlanta at the end of the series.

Betty White played the role of Rose Nylund. Viewers would remember Rose for her unusual stories and for being naïve. She plays the role of a widow in the show and has five children. She finds work as an assistant at a TV station. Estelle Getty played the role of quick-witted Sophie Petrillo. Her character is Dorothy’s mother. Sophia had moved in with the others after a fire at a retirement home.

Rue McClanahan was portraying the role of Blanche Devereaux, and she often appears self-absorbed and desires men. Her character is also a widow and a mother of six children. All four characters in the show became good friends, but the actors were not as close. They were friendly off camera, but everyone had her friend circle.

All four of them have now died after living a prosperous life. Arthur died in 2009 and was 86 years. She had developed lung cancer and left behind and left behind a significant legacy. White died on Dec 31, 2021; she was 99 years old, and her birthday was a couple of weeks. There have been a lot of tributes on the internet.

Getty was 84 when she died in her home in 2008. She had dementia. McClanahan passed away at the age of 76.
