Doon Mackichan has quit the sitcom “Two Doors Down“ as the filming for the sixth season has begun. He has been reportedly written out of the show. The reason for her sudden departure is yet to be revealed. The rest of the cast will remain same as earlier. Producers were having special praise for Doon and said that she will always remain part of the “Two Doors Down” family and it was always wonderful to have her.

Doon Mackichan played the role of Cathy in the sitcom. It has been advised that it will be shown in the narrative of the sitcom that Cathy has left her husband Colin. Her character provided source of horror, entertainment and laughs for the viewer’s .She played the role of the boozy neighbor to perfection. Everybody is anxious to know what will happen to the role of Colin. Siobhan Redmond is the only new face in the cast. Her role is yet to be revealed.

The episodes will be aired on the BBC Two and iplayer in the later part of the year. The first five series are already available on BBC iplayer. Two Doors Down is a popular Scottish television sitcom and is produced by BBC studios.

It is a black comedy with three sets of neighbors who are forced to tolerate each other in one street in Glasgow. It is quite popular show with a rating of 7.9 in IMDB and is directed by Simon Hynd. The show has a huge fan following across the world and is liked for subtle, quirky humour. Fans will be very happy to know that the show is returning for the sixth season but obviously they will be disappointed to know that central character Cathy played by Doon Mackichan has been written out of the show. Cathy was the soul and engine of the show. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the cast assembles and present the sitcom in absence of Cathy. It would be interesting to see if they can fill the void created by the sudden departure of Doon Mackichan.
