45th Annual General Meeting of Reliance has been scheduled for August 29th ,2022. Mukesh Ambani had launched first Jio smartphone with 4G facility in the last year annual general meeting. Many important announcements are expected to be made in the annual general meeting including Jio 5G, Retail and O2C businesses. It is being advised that Reliance will announce 5G network rollout plan across the country.
5G network will be show stopper among all the announcements. In the recently ended Spectrum mega auction Jio was the highest bidder specially in the 700MHz band. They had spent INR 88078 crore and has acquired a total of 24.7 GHz in different bands of 700 Mhz, 800MHz,1800 MHz, 3300 MHz and 26 GHz bands. Ashwini Vaishnaw, India’s telecom minister has earlier announced that 5G network will be reaching tier-1 cities by September- October.
Jio had planned 5G coverage in 1000 cities across the country. They have shortlisted 22 cities who are going to receive the 5G network in the first phase. It is expected to be rolled out first in cities like Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi etc. Another important thing to not is that it is not necessary that every citizen in these cities are able to get 5G services. For the time being, telecom companies might provide 5G network in some selected areas of these cities only. They are launching Jio 5G phone. It has dual camera with 13 megapixel primary camera and a 2 megapixel macro camera. Price is expected to be under INR 10,000. It would have 4G RAM and would have 32GB internal storage. There are expected to be two variants of the same.
Indian government is expected to make an announcement of 5G launch on September 29 at the inauguration of the India Mobile Congress. Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi had announced during his Independence Day speech that 5G is expected to be launched in India sooner than anyone would have expected and its speed is expected to be 10 times faster than running 4G network. With 5G, India will be taking one step to become a developed powerhouse nation.
