Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated from August 18, 2022 to August 19, 2022.

Lord Krishna is said to have taken birth at midnight. Krishna Janmasthami will be celebrated on both days as Asthami Tithi will be starting on August 18, and will end on August 19, 2022. Nishita puja time will be between 12.03 am and 12.47 am on August 19. Fast will be observed on August 19. This year marks the 5,249th birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. The biggest celebration of this festival takes place in the cities of Mathura and Vrindavan, where Lord Krishna was born and spent his childhood.

According to Hindu Mythology, Lord Krishna is the human incarnation of Lord Vishnu and was born to kill the evil king of Mathura, Kansa. He was born to Kansa’s sister ,Devaki. Krishna was born on the eighth (Ashtami) day of the dark fortnight in the Bhadrapada month (August–September) in Mathura and was Devaki and Vasudeva’s son.
A priest had declared that the 8th child of Devaki and Vasudeva will ultimately kill Kansa.

Hence Kansa had imprisoned both Devaki and Vasudeva and had killed all their first 6 children.
Entire India celebrate this festival with lots of love.
